MACGREGOR BESSANT

Director and co-founder of WB BUILT

Macgregor discovered his passion for building and design work while a student at RMIT. When they started up WB Built, Macgregor had been working for sixteen years with some of the leading construction companies in Victoria. He has an outstanding reputation among colleagues for his attention to detail and to people.

He is thoroughly experienced in managing the complete life cycle of buildings from concept, design development, cost planning, budgeting, programming, implementation and post construction. He has managed over twenty large scale projects ranging from $5m to $50m, all completed on time and within budget.

As a project manager he worked on large-scale projects from $10m - $40m+. During his time as a senior project manager he completed projects ranging in cost from $5m to $50m. He has also managed multiple fit outs and hospitality projects.

Macgregor is licensed by the Victorian Building Authority as Commercial Builder (Unlimited). Qualifications B. App. Sci. (Construction Management) RMIT; Cert III (OH&S) ; Masters of Urban Planning

Matthew Whelan

Director and co-founder of WB BUILT

Matthew whose father is also a registered builder, has building in his blood. Starting with his apprenticeship as a carpenter, he has notched up some twelve years experience in the construction industry. In those first years he got plenty of invaluable experiencing developing a hands-on approach to building especially high end residential work in this time extended his skill set across a number of trades.

Since then he has had five years working for a major construction management company as a site manager and more recently three years working as a project manager. He has run projects from conception to completion.

In this most recent period he has managed high end residential projects including heritage buildings as well as hospitality, commercial and large-scale multi-residential projects. He is passionate about maintaining high standards of build and finish with a strong regard for health and safety on-site.

Matthew has a licence from the Victorian Building Authority as a Domestic Builder Unlimited. Qualifications Cert II (OH & S); Cert III (Carpentry); Dip. Building and Construction
